House Manager

Position Overview

We're looking for a genuine, warm, and outgoing individual to be the face of our boutique hotel. As House Manager, you'll be the heartbeat of our property, creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering exceptional hospitality. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on human connection, has a natural flair for making people feel at home, and gets energized by the dynamic nature of hotel life.You're not just a manager; you're a host, a local guide, a problem-solver, and sometimes, a friendly face to chat with over coffee. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in a boutique hotel setting

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Sales experience is a plus

About Hotel Perle

The Hotel Perle is the first "hotel for groups" in the country. Our concept brings friends & family together in large, multi-room suites without sacrificing on the design and experience of a boutique hotel. Each guest suite offers groups kitchen and lounge spaces and multiple bedrooms and bathrooms within the suite.Located at the corner of St Charles Ave. and Julia St. in downtown New Orleans, the Hotel Perle is within walking distance of the Superdome, WWII Museum, Bourbon Street, Convention Center, and some of the city's best restaurants - such as Peche and Herbsaint.Our property also features a ground-floor bistro & bar, aptly named the Charles & Julia, as well as a terrace-level pool and outdoor bar overlooking St Charles and the Mardi Gras parade route.While we won't offer all of the same services as a traditional boutique hotel, we will have floating House Managers there to greet guests, address their concerns, and generally guide them during their stay.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

  • Primary point of contact for arriving guests, set the tone for their stay

  • Provide warm, personalized service and local recommendations

  • Promptly address guest questions and concerns

  • Manage on-site organization and oversee events and activities

Property Oversight

  • Daily property walkthroughs to ensure property is in top shape

  • Execute daily open & close procedures, manage lost & found

  • Liaise with 3rd party mngmt company on bookings & cleaning schedule

  • Alert management of any maintenance issues

Space Management

  • Ensure tidiness and proper setup of all public spaces

  • Manage lighting and music to create the right environment

  • Light candles and incense to create a warm atmosphere

  • Coordinate with on-site cafe to ensure breakfast is organized

Group & Event Sales

  • Respond to inbound group booking and event inquiries

  • Proactively reach out to wedding and event planners

  • Build and maintain relationships with planners and potential clients

  • Source new contacts and close group/event sales


Excluded Responsibilities

  • Cleaning rooms

  • Scheduling cleaners

  • Managing booking platform and pricing

A Day in the Life

Your day starts with a property walkthrough, ensuring everything is perfect for our guests. You'll coordinate with the cafe to ensure breakfast is set up, then welcome arriving guests with your signature warmth. As guests check out through the morning and before the check-in window in the afternoon, you will be walk the rooms and inspect for damageThroughout the day, you're the go-to for everything from local tips to resolving any issues that pop up. In your downtime, you'll be reaching out to event planners, following up on group booking inquiries, and brainstorming ways to attract more events to the property. You might give a site tour to a potential wedding client or finalize details for an upcoming corporate retreat.As evening approaches, you'll ensure the property transitions smoothly from day to night, perhaps setting up for a small event in the lounge. Your day ends with a final walk-through, making sure everything is set for the next day, and maybe sending a few follow-up emails to those event planners you connected with earlier.
